Presidents report: The Club experienced another difficult but successful year - interesting to read from financial reports that whilst membership fees are about # 5.000, our expenses, which are necessary to stay open are over # 30.000. The attendance of the balls is nowhere near to what they should be, cleaning and maintenance expenses are increasing all the time. On the bright side, the Electronic Organ Club of S.A., whose popular concerts are held on the third Thursdays of each month, contribute handsomely to cover our expenses. The Caritas and MHBK assisted with their contributions in buying the new copier. On his return from overseas, it was a great and pleasant surprise to see the beautified dining room. Our kitchen under the management of Attila and Margit Kazi enjoys great popularity. The Christmas Pair continues to be very popular - this year for the' first time organised by the Scheer couple, Jutka and Mihály. The president thanked individually and collectively all who helped the Club in 1989 in building, maintenance, management, administration or any other field where help was needed. Thanked all the husbands or wives whose understanding co-operation makes it possible for their partners to work in the Club, including his own wife, Hugi. After the report the president and committee resigned to make way for the election of a new committee. Mr.E. von Muenster was asked to chair the election. Mr. E. von Muenster reminded members of the rules and rights of members at the election, and asked for nominations for President. There being only one nomination, he declared Mr. I. The president thanked Mr. von Muenster for chairing the election and thanked members for the trust in him as well as in the management of the Club - after all it remained unchanged from last year. This year will not be easier than the last - we will have to work just as hard to achieve our aims. Mr. J. Priss already forecasted the modernisation of our letting kitchen as well as other repair projects. More help and people is needed for cultural functions - especially young people.
