így az eltelt id&s megjelent Thus recording the passing time Barakonyi Szabolcs 1976. július 11-én születtem Budapesten. Gimnazistaként kezdtem rajzolni, akkor még festőnek készültem. Amikor elvégeztem a középiskolát, mégsem felvételiztem a Képzőművészeti Egyetemre. Nem voltak ezek jó képek, de akkor nagyon tetszettek, és úgy I was born in Budapest on July If, 1976.1 took up drawing in high school and wanted to become a painter. However, when I finished high school, I did not take the entrance exam to the University of Fine Arts. I experimented with watercolor, oil paint, then graphics, but I was not satisfied. Finally it was the camera that saved me. On a summer afternoon I started to take photos with my brother and a friend amidst the filtered light in a loft. We left the shutter open and took pictures at random. We made ghost images, drew on the film using the light, like Picasso did for his bull. These were not good photos, but I really liked them then, and felt that I had found the right means to express myself and could work freely. In 1997 I started to attend the Szellemkép Free School, but only completed two years out of three. I wanted to work, but I had no idea that I would become a press photographer. It happened by chance, when the editor-in-chief of the [origo] internet portal, then about to be launched, asked me if I would take photos for them, and I have been working as a press photographer at the portal ever since.
