r Sarkadi Kiskörös a cukorgyárral (50 x 70 cm olaj) of applied arts. He has won remarkable success in graphical design of typographical products. Nowadays he is getting more and more popular due to his modem and witty fire - glazed - ceramics paintings. Various features of Hungarian pictorial are easily discernible in the art of Mr. Ferenc Kesztyűs, signs in which it distinctly manifests itself the pursuance of the colouring and unambiguous style of ancestors in Nagybánya and Szolnok. He is not only carrying on but also developing and modernly applying this style, not only in case of still - life and scenery, but also in connection with portrayal, too. Mr. Ferenc Kesztyűs played an important and determinant role in working out a new method of an art - invention. He became the initiator and partaker of the process getting known as fire - glazed - ceramics painting. It satisfies the demands of table - picture and mural - painting present as well as in the future, too. Together with two collaborators and by the moral and material support of the working team in an exellently equipped laboratory of Building - Ceramics company (Épületkerámiai V.), after a four - year - long experiment sequence Mr. Ferenc Kesztyűs worked out the durable procedure of the technique with regard to the chemical formula as well as to the artistical execution, too. Fire - glazed - pottery (ceramics) lends itself particularly well to make today s and tomorrow s way of life beautiful as if by magic and to take it out of the monotony, caused by the mass- producted thing around us. What is more these works of art are defying the rolling years and the inclemencies of cruel weather. Accordingly the goverment quaity control tests, fire - glazed - ceramics endure without damage the tribulations of changes in temperature between —40° and +1200° Celsius. This feature - especially below freezing point - is the main, fundamental condition of Durability in our zone and territories lying north of us. Besides the advantageous figures it is the intensification of colour - effects that is the most attractive property of fire - glazed - ceramics. This is the reason why the wide applying of fire — glazed - ceramics could be a benefaction to society. Abenefation that could change the frame of life more serene and cheerful as well as the atmosphere of homes and public places, too. Dr. Gábor Ö. Pogány art - historian ret.
