Szekszárdi Művészek (Szekszárd, 1992)

sW^/zekszárd is a small town somewhere in South-Hungary at the foot of Tolna hills, not far from the river Danube surrounded by flood woods, a bustling and busy town situated along the road leading to the Adriatic Sea. A town which is climbing up the hills having giver wine with excellent bouquet for over 2000 years ... that is Szekszárd. The town is also a cultural centre. It is the birth-place of some outstanding figures of Hungarian literature, the centre of folk music and choral activity in South Thansdanubia, and also the home of the artists of this exhibition. I think this catalogue is a proof of the fact that the artistic movement and its influence is of great importance in Szekszárd. In spite of the differences in the artistic techniques the characteristik "couleur locale", which fascinates every visitor to Szekszárd at the very moment and which is shining through the works of art, serves as a bond among artists. I hope that you will find esthetic pleasure in this visual world and the exhibition will bring you to the birth-place of these works of art, namely Szekszárd. Kocsis Imre Antal Mayor of Szekszárd
