April 21- July 5,1994 Bernard Tschumi was born in 1944 of French-Swiss parentage. He studied at the Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich, where he received a degree in architecture in 1969. He is principal of Bernard Tschumi Architects, New York and Paris, and dean of the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, Columbia University.
