On the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of the foundation of the Hungarian State, T the Association of Hungarian Tapestry Artists, (MKE) and the Museum of Fine Arts are organising an international exhibition. • The exhibition will take plaee between 9th March and 31st May, 2001. • All artists working in textile art are invited to take part in the competition. The Association of Hungarian Tapestry Artists, (MKE) is an organisation whose goal is to support and preserve the art of woven tapestry. Its members are all Hungarian professional artists active in that domain living and working within the country or abroad. • The activity of the Association founded in 1996 consists of organising individual and collective exhibitions, presenting the work of artists or groups of artists from other coun­tries and introducing the work of Hungarian artists to the public - within Hungary as well as abroad. Its main aim is to actively support the renewal of tapestry art. The Museum of Fine Arts, Budapest is one of the most important museums in Hungary, exhibiting the country’s most valuable inter­national collection of fine art produced in past and present times. J.
