OMgKDK Periodik; Dear Reader, The negative atmosphere, which resulted form the economic recession can be felt in the scientific world as well. However the fact that agriculture is continuing to be viable, and that Hungarian agriculture and rural development have a future is something that gives us a reason to hope. Since in Hungary agriculture is a sector of strategic importance, its concerns are those of the whole nation. Furthermore, population growth presents the agricultural sciences with serious challenges. Professional journals could help in this cause. Starting from this year the publisher of nine agricultural journals founded by the Ministry of Rural Development - among them Hungarian Agricultural Research - will be the VM Rural Development Training and Advisory Institute (VKSZI). We hope that this journal will satisfy your professional interest and that in it you will find articles which will help with your research. We will strive to maintain these publications as high-level forums of the agricultural sciences and as outlets of the results of research in scientific workshops and postgraduate schools towards the professional community. We hope that our combined efforts to help the agricultural sciences will in turn make Hungarian agriculture successful. For this we wish everyone fruitful research.
