Az 1889-ben Istvánffi Gy. által felállított Gombagyűjtemény legszebb anyagai közé tartoznak Herpellnek a XDL század végén készített preparátumai, a legértékesebb anyaga pedig Hollós L. Gasteromycetas. A Makrogomba Gyűjteményben főként Magyarországról származó kb. 21000 db (1650 taxon, ebből 197 Cortinarius taxon) preparátum található, melyek az 1954-ben Bohus G. által módosított Herpell-féle preparálási módszerrel készültek. Kiemelkedő jelentőségű a 66 db típusanyag, melyből 8 db a Cortinarius taxonhoz tartozik. A Makrogomba Gyűjtemény kalaposgomba és pöfeteganyaga számítógépes adatbázisban található. The fungus collection of the Hungarian Natural History Museum The Fungus Collection of the Natural History Museum in Budapest was established by Gy. Istvánffi in 1889. The most valuable historical materials are the specimens prepared by G. Herpell at the end of the 19th century and the Gasteromycetes specimens prepared by L Hollós. The collection consists of appr. 21000 specimens (1650 taxa including 197 Cortinarius species) collected mainly in Hungary. Since the fifties the method of Bohus (actually it is a modified Herpell method) has been applied for preparation. The type materials (66 taxa, 8 Cortinarius species) have great taxonomic importance. The data of the collection are stored in computer files. Die Pilzsammlung des Ungarischen Naturwissenschaftlichen Museums (Budapest) Die Pilzsammlung des Ungarischen Naturwissenschaftlichen Museums wurde von Gy. Istvánffi im Jahre 1889 gegründet. Zu dem schönsten historischen Material gehören die Präparate von Herpell (19. Jahrhundert), die wertvollsten Präparate sind aber die Gasteromyceten von L. Hollós. In der Großpilzsammlung befinden sich etwa 21000 Präparate, hauptsächlich aus Ungarn (1650 Taxa, aus denen 197 Cortinarius), die mit der von Bohus modifizierten Methode von Herpell hergestellt wurden. Die 66 Typus-Exemplaren (8 aus der Gattung Cortinarius) haben eine hervorragende Bedeutung. Die Daten der Basidiomyzeten- und Gasteromycetensammlung sind auch auf Computer gespeichert.
