László Dús (Malvina Freedson Gallery, USA, 1971)
Currently on a year’s study tour of the United States, Laszlo Dus was born in Hungary in 1941. After gratuation from the excellent Budapest Highschool for the Arts he attended the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts, where he has completed his studies and received his degree in Fine Arts in 1967. His permanent home is in his hometown, Zalaegerszeg, where he is head of the Adult Art Education program sponsored by the Cultural Arts Council, and also teaches an experimental course for gifted children. He is the originator of the now reknowned Egervár Art Camp, held yearly under his direction at the renovated 13 th century Egervár Castle. Mr. Dus is a member of the Hungarian Fine Arts Foundation and the Young Artists’ Guild. His works have been exhibited widely both in Hungary and abroad and his paintings are included in the collections of several Hungarian museums and numerous private collections. Married to Katalin Ercsey, an architect and well-known interior designer, Mr. Dus is the father of Bernadette, age three. He currently resides in Cleveland.
