Dunakanyar Nyári Tárlat (Esztergom, 1980)
A Dunakanyar természeti szépségekben gazdag tája sok-sok történelmi változás tanúja. A rómaiaktól a magyarok honfoglalásáig — sa magyar történelem viharos századaiban — ez a vidék a népek országútja volt. A két évezredes történelem mégsem hozott akkora változást a táj arculatában, mint amekkorát jelenünk és közeljövőnk teremt. A hatalmas vízierőmű építése gyökeresen átalakítja a tájat. A DIB most induló képzőművészeti tárlat-sorozatának az a célja, hogy a meglevő, de szemünk láttára változó, új arcot öltő vidék képét megörökítse, örülünk annak, hogy a kiállításra meghívott művészek egyetértenek céljainkkal, és mellénk állnak a Dunakanyar maiságát megörökítő társadalmi vállalkozásban. Oczel János, a Dunakanyar Intéző Bizottság elnöke The Danube Bend region, rich of natural beauty, has been witness to many historical changes. The area was highway to many a nations from the Romans to the Magyar Conquest and during the turmoiled conturies of Hungarian history. Notwithstanding, two millenia of history has not brought such changes in the features of the region as our present and near future has. The construction of the enormeus hydroelectric power plant changes the landscape drastically. The aim of the fine arts exhibit series of the Danube Bend Executive Committee is to immortalize the present but ever changing features of the region. We are glad to have the cooperation of the artists invited to the exhibit to participate in rendering this social enterprise of the Danube Bend immortal.
