II. Országos Szilikátipari Formatervezési Triennálé (Erdei Ferenc Megyei Művelődési Központ, Kecskemét, 1982)
j,Úg)> volt a homályos múltban, a mint világosan látjuk napjainkban is, hogy agon népek a legvagyonosabbak, agoknak gazdagsága nyugsgik legbigtosabb alapokon, amelyek ag anyag megmunkálásában a legjáratosabbak, a jó íglés által vegetve a kögönséges hasgnálati tárgyakat a legcélsgerlibben, legsgebben állítják elő, s így a nyers anyag csekély értékét kéglik munkájának írtékével nagy mértékben fokoggák . . .” Egekkel a sgavakkalfordul ag olvasóhog 188 /. sgeptember i у-én ag Iparmiívésgeti Múgeumnak és ag Iparművésgeti Társulatnak kögös folyóiratában a ,,Művésgi Ipar” első sgámában a sgerkesgtőség. A hétkögnapi élet hasgnálati tárgyainak kulturált megfogalmagásáért folyó kügdelem Magiarorsgágon a fenti idéget sgerint évjgágados múlttal rendelkegik. A kiállított anyag bigonyítja, hogy a terv égők többsége tárgyainak megformálásakor a célsgerüség sgempontjait elsődleges követelménynek tekinti, s hog> valamennyien igyekegnek a ,,nyers anyag csekély értékét kegök munkájának értékével” Jokogni. Ha valaki a kiállítás tárgyait látva bigonyos bátortalanságot fedegne fel, akkor is tévedés lenne agt hinni, hog> eg ag évsgágada tartó harcos lendület a kifáradás hullámvölgybe jutott. A probléma gyökere abban keresendő, hogy míg a hagyományos kégmlives kultúrában a funkció és forma egysége évegredeken át problémamentesen valósult meg, a tömegcikktermelés fejlődése során, a 19. sgágad óta a ,,kögönség íglése” jelsgó alatt megjelent a ,,divatcikkek” sora, melyek nem a hasgnálhatóság erejével, hanem ag újdonság hamis csábításával hatnak. A ,,divatos” a ,,jó” helyett ma is, és nálunk is, piac és termelés irányító erő. Másrésgt a sgükségletek és a technikai lehetőségek ag utóbbi évtigedekben óriási váltogáson mentek keresgtül, de a feldolgogás technológiája a kísérletegés, a kialakulás stádi “It was the same in the murky past as we see quite clear in our days, too ; that those people richness is the most sure grounded who are the most skilled in the working of materials and led by a good feeling for style they produce the most beautiful and serviceable goods enchanting so the few value of the row material...” These were the editor’s words to the reader in the first number of the “Artistic Industry”, the common monthly of the Museum of Applied Arts and the Industrial Design Association on 1 yth of September, 188j. This short citation above is the evidence of a more than hundred years long period of efforts in Hungary for the cultured creation of the things of the everyday life. A stage of this long and laborous progress is the second time organiged Silicate-Industrial Design Triennale at Kecskemét. The comparatively small number of the shown pieces means also that this progress is still far from its end. The exhibited works all go to show that the first requirement of the designers is always the serviceability, and all of the designers make efforts “to enchance the few value of the row material by the work of their hands”. Hooking at the exhibition someone may feel • a kind of timidity but it would be a complete misunderstanding of the things to think that the more then one hundred years long impulsion arrived at the wave-trough of the tiredness. The sense of the problem is while the traditional hand-made culture could unite the function and the form of the things without any problem then with the developing of the mass production from the 19th century have appeared the row of the different so called “fancy goods” under the slogan ,,the taste of the public”, and not the usefulness but the novelity of the goods made them attractive. Instead of “fancy” and “good” in our days in Hungary the market and the industrial production is the directing force. On the other hand the commodities and the technical conditions have had a great change from the recent decades but the technology of production is in the stage of the experience. The exhibited forms reflect also the worries of a transitional period.
