Napéjegyenlőség Igencsak ritkán gondolunk arra, hogy világunkat olyan fix pontok segítségével tettük lakhatóvá, amelyek valamiféle szimmetria ten-gelyként működnek. Ezekhez a pontokhoz és vonalakhoz képest, hozzájuk képest létezik bal és jobb, előbb vagy utóbb, fönt és lent, sót: jobb vagy rosszabb. Hiszen a referencia-értékek, amelyekhez viszonyítunk, nemcsak a fizikai értelemben vett teret és időt tagolják, hanem azt az erkölcsi-érzelmi-pszihikai kontinuumot is, amelyben az ember él. A csillagos és teliholdas éjszaka nemcsak a csillagászok számára hordoz üzeneteket, hanem a művészeknek is, - nem beszélve a szerelmes lelkekről. A relativitásnak, vagyis a valamihez való viszonyítottságnak ez a sajátos és általános jelenléte örök árnyékként kíséri útjain az embert, a tengerfenéktől a Hold felszínéig. Néha összekeveredik a kint és bent, az elöl és a hátul, a fönt és a lent: a Holdról indulva vajon „le" vagy „föl" megyünk-e a Fődre? Ám maguk a fix viszonyítási pontok és összefüggések minden körülmények közt érvényesek maradnak. A Föld 365 nappalából és éjszakájából - bárhonnan nézzük is - csak két-két olyant találunk, amelyek egyforma hosszúak és közvetlenül szomszédosak. Mert egyébként sok-sok egyforma hosszú nap és éj van egy esztendőben, de ezek nem egymást követik; s így soha nem jut eszünkbe, hogy mondjuk valamely decemberi éjszaka egyenlő hosszúságú egy júniusi nappalai. És ahogy az év sok-sok szétszórt egyenlőségéből csak kettő az igazi napéjegyenlőség, az emberi lélek és tudat rengetegféle állapotából és valóságból is csak igen kevésről gondoljuk azt: igen, ez örök pillanat. Hála egy képzőművésznek vagy egy költőnek vagy egy érzésnek vagy egy forradalomnak: most igen, éppen most angyal szált át fölöttünk. Nap, éj, egyenlőség, testvériség, szabadság, szerelem. Feft and right, before or after, up and down and even better or worse exist with reference to these points and lines. For the reference values to which we relate things articulate not only space and time in the physical sense but also the moral, emotional and psychological continuum in which we live. The starry night sky and the full moon convey messages not only for astronomers but also for artists, not to mention people on love. The special and general presence of relativity, the state of being relative to something, accopanies us like an eternal shadow on our paths, from the bottom of the ocean to the surface of the Moon. Sometimes outside and inside, front and back, up and down become confused: if we set out from the Moon, do we go "down" or "up" to the Earth? But the fixed points of reference and connections themselves remain valid under all circumstances. Whatever our point of observation, among the Earth's 365 days and nights there are only two of equal length and one after other. There are many days and nights of equal length in a year but they do not follow one after the other and so it never occurs to us that a particular night in Ffecember is of exactly the same length as a day in June. And just as there are only real equinoxes among the many days and nights of equal length spread throughout the year, of all the countless states of the human soul and awareness, only a rare few impress themselves on us as being everlasting. Thanks to an artist, or a poet, or a feeling or a revolution: now, yes, this momentan angel has just flown over us. Day, night, equality, fraternity, liberty, love.
