Alexander Walker (The British Museum, 2004)

Alexander Walker in his Maida Vale flat with his collection, 2002 photograph © Rob Carter Alexander Walker (1930 - 2003), the legendary film critic for London’s Evening Standard for more than forty years, was one of the most influential and widely respected figures in the film world. He was also a highly discerning collector of modern art, although few outside the art world knew of his passion for prints and drawings. At his death last year, his entire collection of over 200 modern works on paper was left under the terms of his will to the British Museum.
