Pannonhalmi Zsuzsa kerámia (2004)

By Father István Regöcz, The Migrant of God: This high relief titled “On Tábor Hill” is a present for the Hungarian Nation on the occasion of the Saint Stephen Millenium, 2001. Pope Calixtus III commanded the toll at noon and the observation of the apotheosis of our Lord on Tábor Hill on 6th August in 1456 hearing the news of the glorious battle at Nándorfehérvár. The toll is to commemorate János Hunyadi, Saint János Kapisztrán and all the other Hungarian heroes. On 23"* October in 1956 - right on the 500'1' jubelee of this battle won at Nándorfehérvár, on the celebration day of Saint János Kapisztrán - flared up the flame of the Hungarian Liberty, and on SO'11 October József Mindszenty, Cardinal Primate of Hungary, was rescued from imprisonment. Luke 9 ...the took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.29 And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.30 And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias:31 Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.32 But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.33 And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said.34 While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud.35 And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.36 And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen.37 The story of the battle at Nándorfehérvár (3-22 July, 1456): On behalf of V László, János Hunyadi (born: 1387, died: 11th August 1456) was the governor in Hungary from 1446 on. Saint János Kapisztrán (born: 24th June 1386, died: 23rd October 1456) was a monk in the Saint Francis monastery. He was an eloquent orator with a burning soul. Pope Calixtus III. called for a crusade against the Turks. He sent Cardinal Caravajal and János Kapisztrán to recruit for the holy war. Mohamed led an enormous Turkish army (150 thousand soldiers, 300 cannons, and more than 200 battleships) to Nándorfehérvár. On 14th July 1456 János Hunyadi destroyed the Turkish fleet, making Nándorfehérvár accessible. The army of Hunyadi and the crusaders of Kapisztrán together beat the Turkish attacks back several times and won the final battle against them on 22nd July. Even Sultan Mohamed got injured in this battle. Even Sultan Mohamed got injured in this battle. In 1724 Pope Benedictus XIII canonised János Kapisztrán and ordered that 23rd October be his saint’s day every year.
