From four substantial elements of technical material science, physical and mathematical simulation is of crucial importance, and the level of application of simulation methods essentially determines the efficiency of technical development. In the paper, the strategy of development of wide steel strip rolling technology is discussed, and it also meant the conception of the 1 st research area of TÄMOP-4.2.2. project. Péter Bereczki - Balázs Verő - Róbert Józsa - Attila Portász - Jánosné Fehér - János Virág: Investigations of processes occurring in the course of hot rolling (and affecting the properties of the hot rolled strip) with application of simulator Gleeble 3800. (Preparation for joining the HSMM software)........................................................7 This paper shows the role of physical simulation in technical development on the base of two case-works. These case-works represent two possible variants of technical/technological development. Improvement of mechanical properties of hot rolled, micro alloyed tube steel strips could be achieved by changing the composition of the base material, while the improvement of micro structure of the wide strip in the hot rolled alloy - by changing the process parameters. For the modification of hot rolling technology of HSLA steel and unalloyed aluminium we leaned on information from physical simulation, performed on a Gleeble 3800 termomechanical simulator. Viktor Gonda - Viktória Bodnár - László Molnár - Balázs Verő - László Valenţa: Theory and practice of angular pressing..............20 This paper gives a comprehensive picture of the theory and practice of angular pressing (ECAP - Equal Channel Angular Pressing). On the base of model experiments, performed in plexiglass tools with colour plastiline, the character of deformation during angular pressing becomes perceivable. Analytic (mathematical) simulation of the process perfectly reflects the results of experiments with plastiline. Finite element method simulation of the process serves a deeper understanding of the deformation mechanism. We review the design of the 90o and 110° pressing die and aspects of dimensioning. Results of experiments performed with OFHC copper prove the success of development. Liu Jinhai - Li Guolu - Zhang Huiyou and со.: Examination of microstructure and properties of carbidic austempered ductile iron .............................................................44 New technical structural materials have high strength and ductility. The number of applications of austempered ductile iron, ADI is increasing, as in automotive, agricultural machinery, mining, railways and other areas. Because of void forming role of globular graphite in the microstructure, abrasion resistance is inadequate. This paper deals with the microstructure and properties of austempered ductile iron, containing carbides, called CADI. With increasing temperature of austempering, acicular ferrite becomes thicker and longer, specific impact strength increases, while hardness decreases. Temperature of austempering affects the wet abrasion resistance in a complex way. Authors cast CADI grinding balls, performed production tests with them. Comparing them with low-chrome cast iron balls, it can be determined that the weight loss of CADI balls in ore grinding mills is the half of that of the low-chrome ones. Tamás Török - Viktor Orosz - Zoltán Fekete: Depositing copper on steel wire from pyrophosphate containing galvanic baths ... 57 On high speed wire producing lines, coating of steel wire with copper is performed also at high speed. For cathodic depositing of copper on the surface of steel wire, running through coppering cells, in the same time, generally, baths with characteristics, differing in many aspects from conventional ones, are used worldwide. Recently in Hungary (AMSG Ltd.) an electroplating line was commissioned, on which we examined the effect of changing some critical operational parameters, under laboratory conditions in the sur-facing technical laboratory of our institute. In tempered Hull-cells, thin copper coatings were deposited on the surfaces of plane steel plate samples from alkali pyrophosphate baths, that we qualified with several up-to-date methods (SEM, GD OES) and determined conclusions in order to control the formation of the copper coating in a more reliable way. Judit Babcsánné Kiss - Péter Sóki - Ferenc Blaskovics - György Száméi - László Tóth - Sándor Веке - Norbert Babcsán: Development of metal foams for producing bone-friendly orthopaedic implants...... 61 Nowadays metallic biomaterials are among the most important biomedical materials. Among these stainless steel, cobalt and titanium alloys, especially T16AI4V have widespread applications. Recent article gives an introduction to the preparation of titanium and iron porous structures and their possible application as a coating on medical implant surfaces. Foamed specimens of these metals were produced by an optimized method of slurry foaming technique. The resulted porous surfaces were characterized by microscopy and X-ray tomography. Moreover model implant surfaces were subjected to bone cell ingrowth investigations. öntészet rovatunkat az 1950- ben indított és 1991-ben megszűnt önálló szaklap, a BKL Öntöde utódjának tekintjük. • Szerkesztőség: 1051 Budapest, Október 6. utca 7., III. em. • Telefon: 06-1-201-7337 • • Levélcím: 1371 Budapest, Pf. 433, e-mail: bkl.kohaszat@gmail.com • * Felelős szerkesztő: Balázs Tamás * • A szerkesztőség tagjai: dr.
